Use your toolkit as a loving reminder to prioritize self-care, nurture your well-being, and honor the beautiful essence of who you are.

*Please have a journal ready to take notes and track your journey. To begin, what brings you to engage in this Discipline of Self-Love?

  • What elements of life would I like improvements on?
  • How do I feel about holding myself accountable for things I can change about my health?
  • Am I committed to practicing a self-love routine for 7 days?

The commitment is important. The prefrontal cortex, which is responsible for functions such as decision-making, impulse control, and executive function, may not function as well during certain activities, times of day, or under certain circumstances. This is why the commitment really matters. Having a Self-Love Toolkit to fall back on when decision making slips into old habits, as it will, is very helpful.

Some things to consider adding to your wake-up routine. You may need to wake up 60 minutes earlier than usual in order to do some (or all) of these activities.

  1. Oil-Pulling
  2. Dry Brushing
  3. Tongue Scraping
  4. Neti pot
  5. Drinking warm water
  6. Oilation of nostrils, top of head, soles of feet
  7. 3-20 minutes of breathing practices
  8. Physical activity
  9. Watching the Sun rise.

Have you heard of Surya Namaskar, Sun Salutation? This practice is traditionally done at Sun rise, facing the direction of the East, repeating the names of the Sun. You don't have to do all that, or any of it. But definitely make it out to receive the first rays of Sun light into your eyes. More on this practice on day 2.

The music, sounds, sights, and smells we are ingesting all play a role in overall well-being. Here is a playlist I use for healing sessions:
